Schmidt Brüder Konstruktion is a full service Custom Builder dedicated to building and improving residential and commercial structures according to client needs and desires. Founded by Brothers (Brüder means Brothers in German), Jason and Justin Schmidt of Troy, TX our goal is to provide you with the best possible experience in your construction project.
Jason built his first home in Central Texas over 20 years ago, along with numerous shops, barns, and stables. Justin has has owned and operated an Industrial Construction Company since 2013 in Houston, TX. We know what it takes to build something the right way, and we don't cut corners. We are blessed to work with fantastic sub-contractors as well. Most of our sub-contractors we actually grew up with, right here in Central Texas.

OUR HISTORY
How it started
In 2018, facing the need to provide a new home for our 80 year old father (due to the fact his existing home was a 100+ years old, and built on a pier and beam foundation with 6 feet of steps) we began the search for someone reputable to build a barndominium for him. We found that while there are several metal building constructors in the area, very few provide a turnkey construction project and the wait time was six to nine months to even start erecting metal.
Owning an industrial construction company, Jaedyn Industrial LLC, since 2013 in Houston we knew the project wasn’t difficult, but finding a contractor that could work within our budget and time frame proved impossible. All of our searches led us to traditional builders that weren’t willing to build a home within a metal building, at a price our father could afford. In August we pulled the permit from the City of Temple and decided to G.C. the project ourselves.
We demolished his existing home and started the dirt work to attach a new 1750 sq. ft home onto his existing Mueller Metal Garage which was detached from the home we grew up in. In January 2019, we completed construction. While we self-performed more than initially anticipated we were blessed to find a fantastic group of local sub-contractors to help us complete the project on time and within budget.
After the project started, and throughout construction all of our Friends and Family encouraged us to fill a need in the Central Texas area for a builder that could provide a quality product at a value. We define value as the best possible product, at a competitive price, with uncompromising attention to detail and an unwavering commitment to our client’s experience.
All of our projects are completed on a cost plus basis. A line item, pre-construction estimate is provided and
every invoice during construction is approved and paid directly to the sub-contractor. Our flat rate fee of 17% never changes, therefore our clients never spend more than they expected and approved. We believe honesty, transparency and effective communication between the contractor and homeowner in the building process leads to the best possible product.
